Nature: By Ralph Waldo Emerson. The story of Nature it seem to me. That they were comparing nature and the world to humans preferably man and how he work. It also seemed like they felt work is the only way to keep everyday life going easy.Self Reliance: By Ralph Waldo Emerson. The story Self-Reliance is talking about how much work and the thought of trusting no one was taking so seriously. The way boys were raised to be men. Working to them is a way to show their strength and manhood. ‘‘A man is relieved and gay when he has put his heart into his work and done his best’’. A perfect example of how much work meant to them.
My blog on Transcendentalism is applied to my standard because I described and found evidence in all the readings, and evaluated my responses to them. Like the video of the old man in the woods, His theme was survival and how to survive. The Nature story their theme was survival two now that i think about it because you have to work to get ahead in life i mean that my definition of what they were saying.
The Video Really proved what the Transcendentalists were trying to say. He used his mind and hands to survive in the wilderness. It always at peace and never really had any problems. He didn't even need a government or anything to help him. He made it all on his own. He built his own house hunted for his own food he was straight for the rest of his life.

Resistance To Civil Government: By Henry David Thoreau.Think he was not only talking about poverty, and how people act every day. ‘It is not man’s duty, as a matter of course, to devote himself to the eradication of any, even the most enormous wrong; he may still properly have other concerns to engage him; but it is his duty, at least, to wash his hands of it, and, if he gives it no longer, not to give it practically his support’. Basically the paragraph is stating to me that it isn’t a man’s every will and desire to focus on one thing mainly work. He may have other things to take care of but he will always stay on track to his goals.

Unit Two: American Romanticism
In the story rip van winkle I thought the story was romantic because of how he slept for 20 years and he thought it was only one night. The reason I think that this is romantic because it does not have a logical reason, American Romanticist believed that you did not have to have a logical reason for everything, that is why I think that Rip Van Winkle is a romantic story. Also he describes nature in a very descriptive way and he goes to the woods to get out of the reality of his life. The author Washington Ervin displays beauty in his work through this line:"When the weather is fair and settled, they are clothed in blue and purple, and print their bold outlines on the clear evening sky". I can visualize as i read his writing.

The Poem was talking about nature and death, which makes it Romantic. It also focused on imagination by mother nature can talk to someone who is afraid of dying. It seems to me that the poem is saying don't be afraid to die. Death is nothing to be afraid of.It expresses nature and it has a tone and sets a mood of calmness. Romanticist really didn't have much to see but buildings and lights to see so they could imagine their own world and that's what
All the above standards I have learned and have gained a full understanding of them. Standard one i learned how to look for clues and gain knowledge out of literature and compare to other types of literature.
Standard two I accomplished the goal of classifying theme in literature by reading and doing critical thinking of the stories that I had read. And then support my ideas from whatever i thought about it. Rip Van Winkle for an example; A man going to sleep days but only thought it was hours, or talking Trees. The standard helped me better understand different themes in literature.
Standard three helps me reflect back on history and compare it to my life or present time and other time periods. Like in the 1500's they rode horses, and now we ride mustangs. Alot of music today reflect bak to older periods of time.
Thanatopsis means death seeing too by the way:
The poem refers back to the main themes of romanticism because it reflects to nature and focuses on imagination.
Where he says " She has a voice of galdness, and a smile." we all know nature can't so its focusing on imagination. and "Thou shalt lie down with patiachs of the infant world- with kings, the powerful earth- the wise, the good, fair forms, and hoary seers of ages past,"
He was saying no matter who you are nobodys different when they die you are all going to die the same way

Unit One Con.
I think that Benjamin Franklin was a great example of a rationalist because of his eagerness to find out things with science. The chart he Made About himself really help him better understand his virtues. He studied himself and used his self as the experiment as well. He wanted to know if he could change some of the negative things he did in his life so he used science and that is basically what the Rationalist do. "I wished to live without committing any fault at any time; I would conquer all that either natural inclination, custom, or company might lead me into wrong."
The big Difference between the Puritans and the Rationalist.
The Rationalist were more open minded people then the puritans. The puritans only believed that god would tell them everything, but the rationalist used science as a way to figuring out things. lets say that a mans cow died by a natural disease , the puritans would of probably said god saved the cow by letting it die. The Rationalist on the other hand would of studied and examined the cow to find out what was wrong.
1.staying out trouble: that is really killing me.
2. avoiding police: i have a knack for constant stops.
3. make smarter decisions: stop doing things that are stupid.
4. paying attention in school: so i can graduate.
5. finding a job: so can support m own.
6. Nonsmoker: stop smoking hopefully
7. be courteous to others.
8. Respect of my peers.
9. Recycling: have a better place to live.
10. Read More: increase my vocabulary
11.stay healthy: don't want to get sick.
12. be punctual: got to be on time.
13.dress appropriately: don't want to send the wrong message.
These are my thirteen virtures i would like to improve, and i think i can reach my full potential because i do the opposite of the things on this list and if i started doing the things that are listed i know it would make me a better person.

ELAALRL5
I did learn some pretty cool new words today in class. I learned about Limited Atonement, Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, and Perseverance of the "saints"
Limited Atonement- stated that god died only for a chosen set of people preferably the saints.
Total Depravity- Every one Was a sinner Because of what happened with Adam and Eve.
Perseverance of the saints- Anyone chosen by god to represent him. If you you went against god
then you would feel his wrath but that was impossible between the puritan nation.
Unconditional Election- stated that God Would only save those he chose to save.
Deism- A religious movement thathad a body of ideas that did not revolve around church.
Sinners of an angry god- A sermon wrote by Johnathan Edwards.

Unit one
I am the breeze that kisses your cheek.
I am the sun that warms your face.
When you look at the purple evening sky, it is me.
When you see a majestic mountain, it is me.
When the birds sweetly sing, it is my voice.
When the water gently laps against the shore, it is my heartbeat.
I am the green grass against your feet.
I am the refreshing shade of summer.
In the stars, you see my eyes.
In the blue sky, you see my body.
Feel the air that surrounds you, I am there.
Feel the love in your heart, I am there.
I think the poem was a great piece of literature to pick, and I would try to persuade other people to read it.
In the poem He or she is basically stating that I'm all around you "Feel the air that surrounds you, I am there". And it seems to me that he/she is also stating that i want you to love me. "Feel the love in your heart, I am there"
Work Period:
There is a big difference between the two cultures The puritans only believed that every one was a sinner because of Adam and Eve. The Indians on the other hand thought other wise they were real big on god they worshiped him and preyed him as well but the thing is they had more than one god their god was possibly the sun and and moon. "I am the purple evening sky you look up at". basically I think they were comparing thier selves to the sun when its setting. The puritans didn't really believe in god but to them their god was human. but you should worship him because he didn't die for everyone. They also say God only select a few to go to heaven. "What ever prayers he make till he belive in christ god is under no matter under obligation to keep him a moment from eternal destruction" Sir Edwards sermon states that god will only save those in christ but only a few. The Indians just worshipped their god by dancing and songs not saying the puritans didn't dance and sing but they just did it. Therefore if you did have these two different cultures in the same place it would be a disaster.

I think the standard means that whatever i read, listen too, etc. then i should have an relation or comparison with it. Most likely between the present and past.

Georgia Performance Standards
I think the standard means that every student that takes this course should be able to understand each and every one of those topics that are printed in the standard. if they didn't know then they would learn about the topics discussed in the standard.
Mastering this standard will help me better understand how to read different text in literature.
It would also help me better write poems and stories by me learning the literary devices.
