The Rationlist

Task One:

The Rationalist were more open minded people then the puritans. The puritans only believed that god would tell them everything, but the rationalist used science as a way to figuring out things. lets say that a mans cow died by a natural disease , the puritans would of probably said god saved the cow by letting it die. The Rationalist on the other hand would of studied and examined the cow to find out what was wrong.

Task Two:

Read The Autobiography

Task Three:

I think that Benjamin Franklin was a great example of a rationalist because of his eagerness to find out things with science. The chart idea really proved that you are in control of your life and what you make of it.

Task Four:

1.staying out trouble: that is really killing me.

2. avoiding police: i have a knack for constant stops.

3. make smarter decisions: stop doing things that are stupid.

4. paying attention in school: so i can graduate.

5. finding a job: so can support m own.

6. Nonsmoker: stop smoking hopefully

7. be courteous to others.

8. Respect of my peers.

9. Recycling: have a better place to live.

10. Read More: increase my vocabulary

11.stay healthy: don't want to get sick.

12. be punctual: got to be on time.

13.dress appropriately: don't want to send the wrong message.

The Puritans

Task One :

Basically from what I heard and read, everyone is a sinner according to the puritans. Only the saints are saved and everyone else is going to hell. You could go to a school to be a saint including Harvard which was one of the first saint’s schools. The only reason everyone is a sinner is because Adam and eve and everyone is from Adam eve so god is mad and showing his wrath.

Task Two:

It seemed to me that the people lived in fear and were afraid to speak for themselves. They also thought that it was no other way to get in good with god. unless you were a saint. John Edwards was a saint that wrote the hands of an angry god, which basically stated that god was going to send everyone to hell. he would unleash his wrath upon the people that sinned, but according to him everyone was a sinner. I think that Jesus did die for everyone, but the Puritans didn't. I disagree to everything he was saying about god. My reasons for that are because if god really thought everyone was a sinner he could of all just washed or burned us away. I believe That God is good and forgiving because if he wasn't why would there be a Heaven. To Me Johnathon Edwards was a stubborn fool that had his own meaning about the word of god but he really should have just kept them to his self.

Task Three:
Unconditional Election: 'If God Should Withdraw his hand it would be to keep you from falling, and if god should let you go you would sink because of your wickedness"

Perseverance of the "saints: "God hand has held you up and there is nothing more to be given why you have not gone to hell since u have sat here in the face of god with your wickedness and him drop you into hell."
